Introducing the Selina Bonnet ~ A 1930's Inspired Sewing Pattern

A couple of years ago, I sewed myself a 1950's Catwoman oufit for an All Hallow's party and the requests for my cat eared bonnet that I'd made for myself took me by surprise! I finally got round to turning my little vintage inspired bonnet into a PDF sewing pattern that you can download and sew for yourself. And the cat ears are optional!

The Selina Bonnet is a super fun and sweet bonnet style hat inspired by and named for my favourite comic book character, Catwoman aka Selina Kyle. The feline lover of all things pretty and sparkling, Catwoman made her first appearance in 1940 which is also when these fabulous bonnet style hats became popular.

Made in snuggly wools ~ think cashmere, boucle or glorious tweeds, or in luxe velvets or heavier weight satins for ultimate glamour and line with luxurious silks or cotton lawns.

A quick and simple make that is suitable for the confident beginner or intermediate seamstress.

There is also a step by step sewing Tutorial for Selina which you can find on my YouTube channel

Even though EVERYBODY wants to be a cat { surely?!}, you can leave off the Catwoman ears and sew up a plain version of Selina to match your winter outfits. Or embroider, embellish and prettify your Selina to create truly unique pieces for yourself or as gifts for those you love!

And if you’re about to launch your career as an international jewel thief then the Catwoman version of Selina is purrrfect! You can download your copy of the Selina Bonnet Pdf pattern here.

Sometimes fashion just needs to be fun and frivolous and the Selina Bonnet is exactly that ~ A quick and satisfying sew that adds a little feline fun to your handmade wardrobe!
